Long ago we snapped pictures with SLR cameras. Then we made web pages. Before that we actually typed. My gaming extends through all those technologies. Rules I've written and my old miniature galleries have been moved to here:

Hi there. I've been all over your blog and google site, trying to find an email address for you, to no avail. I was looking at your F&IW gallery, and noticed your question about the ID of those nice British Grenadiers. Thought I'd drop you a line and let you know about them. I'm almost certain that those are British Grenadier B52 "Advancing - Fixed Bayonet", from the Wolfe's Army line of Dixon's SYW/F&IW collection. You can find the illustrated catalog here:

Hope this reaches you, and helps a bit. Cheers.
Thanks for posting in my quiet little portion of the web!
ReplyDeleteIt's funny that over the years nobody has gotten the correct manufacturer for those figures. I originally posted that page circa 1994. Several years later I found an unopened pack of the same British grenadiers. They are made by Eagle Miniatures who have just recently come on line here: http://www.eaglefigures.co.uk/wordpresstrial/
This figure can be seen here: http://www.eaglefigures.co.uk/wordpresstrial/?page_id=12&slug=product_info.php&cPath=15_27&products_id=1020
Well, I'll be darned. You learn something new every day. Thought sure those were classic Dixon round faces on your Grenadiers. And then when I found a dead ringer pose in their catalog...well, you can understand my certainty, I hope. :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks for the pointer to Eagle Miniatures. Cheers!
